The cooker appears to be just a updated better quality version of the original. We have a bigger, heavier , more expensive slow cooker but it does no better than the Focus Electric cooker and is a lot harder to handle and clean.

(More customer reviews)This is the best slow cooker I've ever used. Having three sizes of crocks let us cook just for the two of us, or for the whole family when they're home. And they stack inside each other for storage, so they take up little room. The crocks and heating unit wipe up easily. The simple, manual controls are all we need. I make a large crock of chili or soup, using a liner, serve and then freeze the remaining portion in the liner. After a few weeks, I take out the chili in the liner, put it in the smaller crock, and heat it through in the slow cooker. I saw a version of this slow cooker in Target for $59.99, but all the crocks were tan; this is much prettier. You can't go wrong with these, and you'll be the envy at your next potluck.

(More customer reviews)We got this crockpot about a year ago and have used it maybe 15 times. We hand wash the crockery. The last time we used it, we noticed lots of black flecks in our soup, ranging from tiny (at first we thought it was pepper) to about 1/2 inch in diameter. It was the black enamel of the pot flaking off into our food! When we washed the pot, our sponge was black with enamel. Yuck! I suppose you get what you pay for.

I researched many of the 1-2 quart models and although many of the reviews raved about how those sizes were perfect for a couple, I am so glad that I got this one since I can't imagine making a meal for two in anything smaller. Plus, this leaves a little extra leftover for lunch the next day.

(More customer reviews)I give this bowl 5 stars. I'm here to buy another one. My Annie can eat a bowl of food in 20 seconds and then burps it up all day. I tried changing to different foods and different bowls but nothing worked until I bought this bowl. She used to hook her bottom jaw around the food in a little bowl and scoop it in! She has to slow down and eat around the heart-shaped prongs now - the burping has definitely gotten better. If I could just get her to stop almost taking my finger off....

West Bend 84716 Versatility 6-Quart Oval Slo-Cooker Review

- Cooking times are accurate. If a recipe specifies 8 hours to cook a pot roast, that's how long it will take. I've never owned a slo-cooker that came close to this degree of accuracy, and I've owned many over the years!
- Ridiculously easy to clean (non-stick).
- The removeable cooking pot is very light-weight, and can be used in the oven, on the stove, or in the refrigerator, hence the term "versatility".
- 6 quart capacity and oval design accomodates most recipes and cuts of meat...it is ideal for me.
- I've cooked 15-20 meals of all types with this cooker and have NEVER had a problem with the results.
Why I could not give this product 5 stars:
- It does not have an on/off indicator (light), nor does it have an "off" setting - once you plug it in, it goes into a "warm" mode, even though the heat switch is turned all the way to the left.
- Speaking of switches, the one on this model appears (to me) to be a bit flimsy with no positive feedback as to whether it is on high or low or somewhere in between. No big deal, and for all I know it might last through a nuclear war, but if it ever breaks, the appliance will probably be rendered useless.
All in all, based on ease of cleaning, light-weight design, and of course consistency of results, this is the best slo-cooker I've ever owned and would, despite its price, strongly recommend this appliance to any and all interested in purchasing a slo-cooker.

I followed the directions but could not get it to work..The timer would set and the temp would not...Then I tried to just hit the on button and the time changed and on and on..I called the customer service number on the back of the directions and spent 30 minutes with a rep that did her best to help..She simply gave up and said I needed to contact Amazon to return the unit..I got cut off while she was looking up a contact number for amazon..and since I had a fresh pork roast in the unit I went to a local store and purchased a different slow cooker. I will try to get the contact number for Amazon tomorrow since the customer service was closed by the time I purchased a new slow cooker and turned it on with no problem...

(More customer reviews)I love cooking in my crockpot because it makes cooking a healthy meal so easy. Now clean up is just as easy.
All you do is place the liner in the crock pot, add the ingredients and when the meal is through, just lift out the liner and toss it in the trash. Then a quick wipe with a damp sponge and the crockpot is ready to go again. I use these liners for my 4qt round, 6qt oval and 6.5qt oval. For the larger size, just place the liner over the widest part of the crock and stretch until it fits, then pull it over the sides. Who ever thought of this is a genius.

After hearing sad stories of dogs who died from the Bloat I was anxious to find a bowl that would slow my dog down. What I like about this particular bowl is that it's not made of lightweight plastic, the weight of the stainless steel helps it to stay put, along with a non-slip rubber grip on the base of the bowl. It stays in place and doesn't end up tipped over or pushed under the cabinet toe-kick. Plastic bowls get scratched up on the inside after so much use, you don't have that problem with stainless steel. And you never really know if there's bacteria on the plastic, with stainless steel it's easy to steralize.

The New Creative Crock Pot Stoneware Slow Cooker Cookbook Review
